About Us

Welcome to the Socks Gaming Community Established in September 2023, Socks was born in the turbulent seas of Naval Action—a niche, often misunderstood title with mostly negative reviews on Steam. Think of the Master and Commander book series by Patrick O’Brian, then imagine that world turned into a video game. Now add a developer on an eternal quest to perfect his vision—a vision that somehow never quite lands, and with each patch, things get stranger. And yet… something about this game remains special. Not to get too sentimental, but it's probably the players. Naval Action draws in a fascinating mix of personalities. Some want to be kings. Some just want to watch the world burn. Some are lone wolves preying on eco warriors desperately trying to add another zero to their cargo value. Others are loyal clansmen. The game's world space is massive—stretching from Venezuela to Bermuda and from Mexico to North Carolina. It takes many hours to cross, and it’s divided into four factions: Great Britain, Spain, France, and the Pirates. Each nation is made up of many clans. Some of them are fireflies—bright, short-lived flashes that disappear after a few months. Others have been around since early access, before the game even had a proper map. Some are phoenix clans, rising from the ashes of failed ventures. Enter the Wetsocks. We sailed into the British nation in September 2023, built on the simple but powerful idea of sharing assets and “paying it forward”—as SubZer0 (aka Bobupndown) put it. We were escapees from a clan that existed solely to farm its lower ranks. That experience shaped us. We believe that what you get out of this game—and this community—is directly tied to what you put in. And so far, that belief continues to serve us well.

"Wetsocks" named for that moment when you escape a sinking ship with a hull almost full of water a.k.a "getting your socks wet" Since its founding, has continued to grow, thriving in RvR, PvP, and PvE battles across a variety of games. In Naval Action, we've waged and supported wars against rival clans. In Foxhole, we built frontline forts, played key roles as partisans and tank crews, and held the line in a grueling three-month war. You'll also find us capturing vessels and forming neat, orderly ranks of redcoats in Holdfast. When we're not on the frontlines, you'll find us strategizing in Total War campaigns, leading daring heists, or fighting to survive in zombie-infested wastelands. Wherever the fight is—land, sea, or post-apocalyptic ruin—Socks is there.
